Secure File Deleter

Deleting a file is extremely easy and anyone can do it, but it is a different story if you really want to get rid of that file. The operating system doesn't actually erase the physical information from the disk, but Secure File Deleter does. It can delete files and overwrite the data multiple times, to ensure that no recovery utility will be able to salvage the information.

The shredding process doesn't involve too much besides selecting the data you want to erase and clicking a button. You can target one or more files or an entire folder through simple browsing options. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the data over Secure File Deleter's compact user interface, over its shortcut or you can right click the file and use the "Send To..." option.

Before you shred any data, you can access an options menu and make a few adjustments. The software lets you choose between several shredding algorithms, set a number of repeat overwrites, specify how much of the file should be replaced with random characters and more. The shredding process will obviously go slower than a normal file delete, but you can be sure the data will be gone forever.
